I recommend her! :)

Hey guys! :) I want you all to take a look at this fanfic!

The lights flickered on and off, something she
wasn’t fazed by. The house was so old that this was
perfectly normal. A strange sound from downstairs,
like the washing machine turned on. Funny, since
she didn’t remember anyone being here.

Thunk! She sat straight up from her seat on the

computer when a heavy book fell off her bookcase.
She placed it gingerly back on the shelf, as if the
entire thing was a bomb. A quiet tap, tap, tap
coming from outside the closed door, like someone
walking away. Then it stopped.

Slowly, she got up towards the door, every step
causing the earring rack on her dresser to quake,
followed by a creak, like if she was a quarter of a
pound heavier the entire floor would collapse.
Something in the attic above fell. Then a thump,
thump, thu—like footsteps being cut off. She looked
into her room, the closet door opened an inch. The
darkness stared hauntingly, as if it wants to swallow
her up in a never ending vortex. She opened the
door.

Nothing. The hallway was empty and dark and a
chill went down the girl’s back, and something

brushing against her neck. She passed it up as her
hair sweeping against it, even if it was pulled tightly
up. She walked down the hall, cursing as she
stubbed her toe against the head of a metal nail
poking through the floorboards. She passed by the
open stairs which emptied out into infinite darkness.

She entered the dining area and looked out the
kitchen window. A single street lamp blinked and
abruptly fizzed out, leaving the road sinister.

She poured herself a glass of water, when the
sunroom door eerily creaked open. She set down
the half finished glass and went to close the door
after peering into to meet the chilly air.

She walked up to her glass of water to find it
missing. She checked around the room and looked
into the empty sink. She opened the cupboard to
find a washed and polished glass turned upside
down, like all the others. The sunroom door opened
again, and if possible, a bit impatiently.

Reluctantly, she closed the door again and
caught a small ripple in the air through the corner of
her eye. A disfigured shadow passed by her feet, as

if the other half is behind her. She tried not to run to
her room.

Halfway down the hall, the toilet downstairs
flushed. She slipped into her room, barely closing
the door. Distantly, the water from the jug poured
gradually. An intolerant tap, tap came down the hall,
footsteps coming closer and closer…
